Q: Why is it so critical to maintain the proper water chemistry in my swimming pool?

A: If your pool has an imbalance in its water chemistry, you could be causing serious and expensive damage to the pool’s heaters, pumps, pipes, plaster, sensors, and filters. It can also cause an unhealthy swimming environment which can lead to skin irritation. Fixing these problems can be costly, so do yourself a favor and be sure that you maintain proper pH levels in your swimming pool.

Q: Does a spa require a concrete pad to set on?

A: These hot tubs may be placed on a wooden deck, landscape pavers, or prefab spa pads that lock together.  Larger models may require being set on a reinforced concrete pad.   As a homeowner, it is your responsibility to provide a suitable, level foundation for your hot tub. Contact The Pool Guys for more guidance if needed.

Q: Do I need a building permit to install a hot tub?

A: No, a building permit is not required to install a hot tub.

Q: How much does it cost to operate a hot tub?

A: Roughly cost a $1 per day year round.  Your bills will be less in the summer and more in the winter.  The coldest months are November, December and January so your bills will be the highest in December, January and February.  Size and placement of the hot tub, water temp and usage are all factors that vary from customer to customer that effect cost.
