What should the normal water pressure of my filter be?

There are different water pressure tolerances for every swimming pool system. Be sure to check your original owner’s manual to find the ideal range for your specific model of swimming pool

  • If you believe that your filters pressure is too high, first make sure that your pressure gauge reads zero when the equipment is turned off. If it does not go down to zero, you simply need to replace the gauge. If that is not the problem, inspect the baskets and remove any debris. Next, inspect all of your equipment valves to be sure that they are property set and then backwash your filter for several minutes.
  • Similarly, if you believe that your pressure is too low, check the gauge and make sure that ti goes down to zero when the equipment is turned off. If it does not, it is time to replace the gauge. If that doesn’t fix your problem, clean out your baskets and make sure that all of your valves are properly set.
